ABOUT
I am a licensed therapist based on Chicago's North Shore. I work from a psychoanalytic perspective, which means I'm less focused on quick fixes and more interested in helping you understand yourself more deeply.
Most people who find their way to psychotherapy have been thinking about it for a while. Something hasn't sat right — a pattern that keeps repeating, a feeling that doesn't quite make sense, a suspicion that there's more to the story than what's on the surface. That persistent sense of something — however vague — is often exactly the right place to begin.
In my practice, sessions are conversational and unhurried. There is no agenda, no worksheet to complete, no curriculum to pursue. I follow your lead — what you bring to a session, what feels most pressing, what keeps surfacing even when you try to set it aside. Over time, patterns emerge, and with them, a clearer sense of what has been shaping your experience and what you might want to be different. We work together to help bring awareness to how you think, react, and make decisions, and ultimately it is this awareness that can lead to greater satisfaction and connection in all areas of your life.
This kind of therapy isn't about coping strategies or skill-building; it's slower, open-ended, and more curious. The goal is to not just feel better in the moment, but to actually understand what's driving things. That takes time, and it takes a particular kind of conversation — one where nothing is too small or too strange to look at.
If you think I might be a good fit, please call or email for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
